Info zur Race Car Series
How did the idea come about?
The trigger:
The Elfer Cup West was a wonderful racing series. What started in Bad Breisig in 2011 and was well-attended in the following years, became a very sad and poorly attended racing series in 2018.
The idea:
Sitting together on a relaxed evening after a Saturday training session, philosophizing about various sensible and nonsensical things, a little idea is born. The most beautiful racing series currently available in motorsport at a 1:1 scale are GT racing series (VLN, ADAC GT Masters, Blancpain GT Series, and many more). Wouldn't a series like that at a 1:5 scale be fantastic?
The preparation:
The idea wouldn't let us go. So we turned the internet upside down. The problem was that in Germany, apart from Porsche, there wasn't a single GT-style lid available for purchase. The cute little idea seemed destined to become a pipe dream. But anyone who knows me (this time I'm referring to myself alone) knows I don't give up easily. Following the motto "if it doesn't exist, you have to make it yourself," the "ST one" project was born. And thanks to... FG Supply and SCS M2 Two more beautiful GT covers. It's also great that FG T2M has released the Audi R8 in 1:5 scale. We're thrilled, and the idea grew...
The plan:
After the bitter end described above, a potentially wonderful beginning could now be made. Two fundamental things were important to us.
1. A series featuring the most beautiful sports cars in the world. The feeling—I don't know how to describe it—when you're standing in the driver's seat, looking at your car, and thinking, "Wow, my car looks amazing!" It's not just about speed, but also about enjoying the car's appearance.
2. A racing series for everyone. It's also important to keep costs reasonable. Everyone should have fun, and that should be the main focus!
The implementation:
After numerous discussions, lengthy phone calls, and a crazy exchange of WhatsApp messages and emails, the key points were finalized. A HUGE thank you again to everyone who contributed. Special thanks also to Ralf Stommel, who supported us within the framework of the NRW Cup It allows us to ride along. Many tasks have now been completed.
The GT Series:
The framework is in place. Seven races will be held in 2019. The best five results from these seven races will count towards the ranking. All wheelbases from 465mm to 535mm will be used. The car must be a GT model (see also). RegulationsSimilar to full-size racing, there's an annual ranking and therefore an overall series winner. However, a new feature is that all winners will be honored at a separate event at the end of the year. The date will be announced later and will not be at a racetrack, but rather at a local venue where all participants can gather for a relaxed evening filled with fun and plenty of petrolhead talk. The daily winners will be honored on the podium at the track, as always. There will also be a few surprises throughout the year.
The Race Car Series:
In 2020, the NRW Cup and the SCS M2 GT Series merged to become the Race Car Series. The Touring Car, Truck, Formula, and GT classes competed under the new name. Over 150 participants registered for the series. Despite COVID-19, an average of 65 drivers started each race we were able to hold, making for a fantastic season. A new class was added for 2021: the XR5 Rallycross. Six races are planned...
The success:
Yes, it no longer depends on us. We've nurtured the crazy little idea from the beginning. Now it's reached a size where it's starting to crawl. But the idea can't learn to walk, or even run, on its own... For that, it needs YOU! YOU, who will help us make the idea run...
We would be happy to see YOU at the white line...
